INTERLUDE

Located in the heart of downtown Des Moines, across from a Mies van der Rohe building, Interlude stands as a Benedictine guesthouse to St. Ambrose Cathedral and Rectory next door. This project required finding a balance between it's urban ecosystem and the tranquil setting necessary for this site. The project has subtle poetic callouts to its historic surroundings while still maintaining modesty to pay respect to those that came before us.
